The Hoogeveen Chess Tournament will be held this year from 21 to 28 October in the town hall of Hoogeveen. It will be the 27th year of the tournament. In 1997, chess was played for the first time in the town hall. In that almost 30-year history, almost every world top player has played in Hoogeveen. The formula is the same as always: two matches, two amateur tournaments and an Open Group. Registration for the Amateur Group and the Open Tournament is now open.
